The Rev. Marq Toombs

Welcome! I am an ordained presbyter with the Reformed Episcopal Church (ACNA).

Support My Ministry

I am currently serving as a Church Planting Curate with St. Benedict's Anglican Church in Rockwall, Texas. I have served in the ministry for 30+ years, and now I am training to become a church-planting priest.

Over the next several months I will be leading an extension work of St. Benedict’s Anglican Church over in Greenville, Texas.

The Spirit of the Lord has been gathering beautiful souls from different ages and stages of life, experience, and background. Our hope and prayer is to see that Extension work grow, become a Mission in the near future, and eventually a Parish.

Ora et Labora: Pray and Work.

Currently, we are meeting twice per month in a rented space for Evening Prayer, and once for Evensong and Fellowship. We also launched a Youth Ministry for their spiritual formation. This group meets twice per month, and will include service projects and field trips.

Curious? To learn more about this Extension Work contact me by using the form below — or by texting, calling, or emailing if you have my contact info.

During this season of formation and transition, I will continue to serve at St Benedict’s and stay engaged in the life of the parish. I will continue assisting the Rector with liturgy, ministry of the Word, sacraments, catechesis, outreach, and soul care.

The needs are many, the priests are few.

Your support helps me put into practice what I have learned spiritually, liturgically, missionally, and pastorally.

A Little About Me.

GIVE A GIFT

I was born and raised in the Dallas area. I met my wife Shannon at our church youth group in the mid-1980s. We have been happily married since August 1991. We have four young adult children and one son-in-law — all baptized Christians.

I have served as a minister and missionary in cross-cultural contexts for more than three decades. The Lord has sent us to serve the Cross in different places, states, and traditions on both sides of the US-Mexico border.

By God’s love and grace, I was made a priest in the REC in August 2025.

Over the past year the Lord has given me the privilege of teaching and preaching his Word, baptizing children, and celebrating the Eucharist. I have heard confessions, counseled the troubled, comforted the grieving, called sinners to repent, and (even) changed my mind about some things.

My heart's desire as a priest is to lead as many souls as possible to participate in the worship and mission of God in this life in preparation for the life to come.
