St. Benedict’s is pleased to welcome The Rev. Dr. Gerald McDermott, author of Deep Anglicanism: A Brief Guide, to lead this year’s Lenten retreat exploring the origins of Lenten Spirituality within the Anglican tradition.

Lent In Israel: An exploration of the origins of Lent within the history, ritual, and story of Israel.

Saturday, March 22nd / 9:00 am

Lent In The Early Church: A discussion on Lenten development through the apostolic and early Church into the 5th century.

Lent In Anglicanism: Learn how Lenten spirituality takes shape via the English Reformation until today.

Sunday, March 23rd / 9:00 am

Dr. McDermott will preach at the 9:00 am and 11:15 am services and teach catechesis from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. All are welcome!

The Rev. Dr. Gerald McDermott

Gerald McDermott is an Anglican priest and theologian who teaches at Jerusalem Seminary and Reformed Episcopal Seminary (ACNA). He and his wife Jean have three grown sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law, and thirteen grandchildren. He is a priest-in-residence at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Crozet, VA.
